verse 26: Rise up and help us; redeem us because of your unfailing love.
Sopping Wet November 12, 2009
Coming out of stormy waters . . . we are tired . . . we almost drowned . . . we’re afraid the tide will come and snare us again. But we live with a promise. Songwriter Christa Wells (sung by Natalie Grant) eloquently reminds me that the promise takes it’s full hold when we are sopping wet and worn down to the bone from our fight with the sea.
Who told us we’d be rescued?
What has changed and why should we be saved from nightmares?
We’re asking why this happens
To us who have died to live?
It’s unfair. This is what it means to be held.
How it feels when the sacred is torn from your life
And you survive.
This is what it is to be loved.
And to know that the promise was
When everything fell we’d be held. This hand is bitterness.
We want to taste it, let the hatred know our sorrow.
The wise hands opens slowly to lilies of the valley and tomorrow. This is what it means to be held.
How it feels when the sacred is torn from your life
And you survive.
This is what it is to be loved.
And to know that the promise was
When everything fell we’d be held.If hope is born of suffering.
If this is only the beginning.
Can we not wait for one hour watching for our Savior?
2 Timothy 4:17-18
But the Lord stood at my side and gave me strength, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. And I was delivered from the lion’s mouth. The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory for ever and ever. Amen
Your Love Never Fails October 19, 2008
And THIS I MUST remember.
Nothing can separate
Even if I ran away
Your love never failsI know I still make mistakes
But You have new mercies for me everyday
Your love never failsChorus:
You stay the same through the ages
Your love never changes
There maybe pain in the night but joy comes in the morningAnd when the oceans rage
I don’t have to be afraid
Beause I know that You love me
Your love never failsVerse 2:
The wind is strong and the water’s deep
But I’m not alone in these open seas
Cause Your love never failsThe chasm is far too wide
I never thought I’d reach the other side
But Your love never failsBridge:
You make all things work together for my good
Your love never fails written by: Chris Quilala
Praise Him July 14, 2008
How can I Praise My God?
I can tell Him how wonderful He is in my prayers.
I can lift my hands and voice to Him.
I can serve others in the name of Jesus without selfish gain.
I can go to bed on time so that I am refreshed each day and reflect His image to others.
I can meditate on Him, write about Him, and make creative expressions for Him.
I can love Him with all my heart and soul and mind.
FAITH: the Antidote For Fear May 18, 2008
Victory over the world (and by the world I mean those who do not not know the truth – those who are false prophets and who are at the whim of any spirit and ultimately are separated from God) comes from believing that Jesus has the power to redeem our souls. And when we have faith in this, the testimony of God - His truth and love – will live in us.
By His love there is no fear.
So Faith is the antidote for fear.
1st John 4:1-3 Beloved do not believe every spirit but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. . .
1st John 4:16-18 We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgement; because as He is, so also are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love.
1st John 5: 4-5 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world – our faith. Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
Thankful for . . . April 24, 2008
1 John 4:17-19
In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
We love because he first loved us.
Oh Thank You Lord!
Set My Heart At Rest April 6, 2008
1 John 3:16-19
This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence whenever our hearts condemn us. For God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.
God – Thank You for pouring Your love down on me. Thank You for the life You gave to me. God – please make me a woman who sees and responds without hesitation to the needs of others. Make me less concerned about my own self and more and more concerned about what other people need. God let my actions be filled with love – not pride or recognition. I long to set my heart at rest in Your Presence by doing as you have willed me to to – love others. Amen
The Writing On My Hand March 16, 2008
These are the promises, assurances, and commands that are spoken by God through the prophet Isaiah for me to write upon my hand – today. For God’s Word transcends all time and space and speaks directly into my heart and compels me to say that I am chosen by Him. Knowing that I have been chosen by God, I can walk confidently knowing that He will be with me always. I have nothing to fear. My sins are no more. He will use me to declare that He is who He says He is – the Savior.
from God’s Word deemed Isaiah 43 & 44
this is what the LORD says . . . “fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. . .
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you . . .
because I love you . . .
Do not be afraid, for I am with you . . .
“You are my witnesses,” declares the LORD, “and my servant whom I have chosen so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me. I, even I, am the LORD, and apart from me there is no savior. . . You are my witnesses,” declares the LORD, “that I am God. Yes, and from ancient days I am he. No one can deliver out of my hand. When I act, who can reverse it?” . . .
Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland. . .
“I, even I , am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more. Review the past for me, let us argue the matter together; state the case for your innocence. Your first father sinned; your spokesman rebelled against me. . . “
“But listen, O Jacob, my servant, Israel, whom I have chosen. . .
Do not be afraid, O Jacob, my servant, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen.
For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessings on your descendants.
They will spring up like grass in a meadow, like poplar trees by flowing streams.
One will say, ’I belong to the LORD’; another will call himself by the name of Jacob; still another will write on his hand “The LORD’s,’ and will take the name Israel.
Proverbs 16:6 March 4, 2008
Through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for; through the fear of the LORD a man avoids evil.
Dear Lord – Thank you for saving me from my own self – the sins I commit. Your faithfulness is unfathomable. Please keep me from temptation. Amen
And can it be? February 29, 2008
And can it be that I should gain
An interest in the Saviour’s blood?
Died He for me, who caused His pain—
For me, who Him to death pursued?
Amazing love! How can it be,
That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?
Amazing love! How can it be,
That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?
‘Tis mystery all: th’Immortal dies:
Who can explore His strange design?
In vain the firstborn seraph tries
To sound the depths of love divine.
‘Tis mercy all! Let earth adore,
Let angel minds inquire no more.
‘Tis mercy all! Let earth adore;
Let angel minds inquire no more.
Long my imprisoned spirit lay,
Fast bound in sin and nature’s night;
Thine eye diffused a quickening ray—
I woke, the dungeon flamed with light;
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.
No condemnation now I dread;
Jesus, and all in Him, is mine;
Alive in Him, my living Head,
And clothed in righteousness divine,
Bold I approach th’eternal throne,
And claim the crown, through Christ my own.
Bold I approach th’eternal throne,
And claim the crown, through Christ my own.
